Lenovo is done with launching the Vibe branded smartphones in India. Apparently, Lenovo has gradually moved away from the Vibe brand in the last few months and now, the company has confirmed that it won’t be launching Vibe branded smartphone (no more) in India.

No More Vibe Branded Smartphones
According to India Today’s report, Lenovo is getting rid off dual-brand strategy in the smartphone market (globally) and going forward with only moto-branded phones in most of the global market.
Motorola is expected to step in, which according to Jan Huckfeldt (Vice President of Global Marketing & Communications, Lenovo Mobile Group, and Motorola) will not only bring cash but will be more recognizable around the globe.

Which takes us to point that, Lenovo-branded phones will not be seen in any of the markets, all of them are going away, whether it be Vibe series or ZUK series. The only exception to this is the Indian market. The company is going to simplify the product lineup, not to mention, the K and Note series phones may continue to sell in India.

Jan Huckfeldt, Vice President of Global Marketing & Communications, Lenovo Mobile Group, and Motorola said;
In India we have seen that the two brands are doing well. Although we will not launch any Vibe phones anymore, in India there will be some Lenovo-branded phones. In India we have seen that there is no cannibalisation (between the Moto and Lenovo phones) and that the two brands complement each other.”
