Lenovo Smart Assistant Unveiled; An Amazon Echo Alternative: CES 2017

CES 2017 is here and the companies started showing off their upcoming devices.


Lenovo introduced Smart Assistant, a new digital personal assistant, which is powered by Amazon’s Alexa. The device is similar to Amazon Echo but with comes in a variety of colors.

The Alexa powered Smart Assistant from Lenovo recognizes users voice commands to conduct webs searches, play music, create lists, calendar reminders and much more. Well, it has eight (8) 360-degree far-field microphones with noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation.Lenovo Smart AssistantIt is powered by Intel Celeron N3060 processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 1 x 5W tweeter + 1 x 10W woofer, is supported by WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0. Speaking of variants, there is a Harmon Kardon audio version available.

It is also designed to run Lenovo smart home devices, as well as scores of existing third-party products to expand user options.

Lenovo Smart Storage

Lenovo Smart AssistantLenovo has also introduced Smart Storage, much like it sounds it secures your digital information with the help of a massive 6TB capacity, dual-band wireless access and multi-device auto-sync capabilities.

And to add flavor it has integrated facial recognition software that basically organizes your entire photo library based on facial recognition with a great accuracy (at least that’s what Lenovo claims).


Pricing

Lenovo Smart Assistant comes in Light Gray, Green, and Orange color options, starts at $129.99 (Rs 8,890 approx.), while the Harmon Kardon Edition starts at $179.99 (Rs 12,300 approx.). The Lenovo Smart Storage starts at $139.99 (Rs 9,570 approx) and both the devices will be available in May 2017 (first week).
