Xiaomi’s Pinecone Processor May Launch By Next Month: Report

Rumors of Xiaomi coming out with its own processor is approaching a pertinent ending as the company is reported to be coming out with their Pinecone Processor.

Lately, Xiaomi smartphone are coming out with Qualcomm and MediaTek chipset, but now, Xiaomi may soon be planning on launching smartphones with its own ‘Pinecone’ processor, a report by The Wall Street Journal claimed. And if it is true then Xiaomi will join the elite group of OEM’s, who manufacture their own SoCs for their smartphones.

According to a report, Xiaomi’s Pinecone Processor may launch ‘within a month’ or say by next month, which also syncs with the rumors of the company’s upcoming smartphone launch i.e Xiaomi Mi 6. Though there are a lot of rumors suggesting that the Mi 6 coming with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.

A slack of rumors also suggests the Xiaomi Mi 6 coming in two variants, one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and another with Pinecone Processor. The other rumor suggests that the Pinecone processor might debut with Xiaomi Mi 5C.

Using its own processor could save both time and money of the company and we have already seen Huawei’s Kirin and Samsung’s Exynos processor optimization over their own smartphone. We need to wait until we witness the performance of Xiaomi’s own processor.
