The world’s fastest processor is the Intel Core i9, which goes up to 18 cores. The CPUs are targeted towards tech enthusiasts as they are the ones who go ahead and purchase these pricey CPUs to share their opinions with others. One of the major misconceptions we come across while buying tech is “Large Number = Better Product,” which is not entirely true.
Most of the companies use this strategy to sell their products, and it works, most of the time. We expect the successor of “Realme X,” “Realme X2,” to be better, but the scenario in processors is entirely different.

The categories that processors are divided into are vast. Just because the processor performs better doesn’t mean it’ll be better for you. Most of the time, there’s no need for extra power unless you’re a gamer or a crypto miner. We are here with a comparison between Intel i9 Vs Intel i7 Vs Intel i5, and which one should you choose.
Why And When To Choose i9?
In simple terms, the Intel Core i9 is faster than the Core i7, which in turn is faster than the Core i5 (very obvious). But, buying a Core i9 to watch YouTube doesn’t make any sense, unless you have money growing on trees.
The Core i9 gets its power from the number of cores it has. A “core” is also a processor (More like a mini-processor that works to get the job done), and each core adds more processing power to the overall performance. The more the number of cores, the better the RAW performance will be.
Apart from the RAW speed, Intel has made a significant amount of changes under the hood. From the cache hierarchy to Intel’s Optane Memory. When placed together, they speed up the performance.

However, the Core i9 is meant for power users wand enthusiasts who want to get the most out of the processor. The reason why Core i9 isn’t used in laptops is due to its TDP. A power-hungry processor like i9 will not let the laptop’s battery last longer.
Why And When To Choose Intel i7?
Before Intel Core i9’s existence, the Core i7 processors were the ones that gamers and content creators preferred. While Core i7 still imbalances performance and battery life, it is a great processor for gaming even today. The sole difference between Core i7 and Core i9 is the number of threads that are double in the i9 9900k (16 threads) compared to 8 threads in i7 9700k.
For people who cannot afford a Core i9, i7 or Ryzen 7/9 is what they should be looking at. After the launch of the i9, the prices of the i7 have dropped significantly. To summarize, get a Core i9 if you are a hardcore content creator and gamer, while the Core i7 should also be able to handle stuff pretty smoothly.
Why And When To Choose Intel i5?
If you belong to a group of people who don’t want to sacrifice on performance and extract a decent amount of battery life, during work, i5 is where you should be looking at. Laptops with i5 8265U/10th Gen (fix the naming scheme Intel!) or Ryzen 5 3500U is excellent for college students pursuing a Computer science degree. As they would be spending most of the time coding, which does require a good CPU for faster execution.
People with needs like editing spreadsheets, watching movies, and browsing the web, an i3 8145U, or Ryzen 3 3200U should get the job done.

It is hard to find a processor that suits your needs. Hence before buying, do research about them. Now that Nanotechnology is at the brink of saturation, it’ll be interesting to see what AMD and Intel do to attract more consumers. Will they have to need more marketers than chip designers in the future? What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
