In an overabundance of smartphones in the market, people often get confused about which phone to buy. In the Indian smartphone market, budget smartphones in the sub Rs. 10,000 segments sell like hot dogs. Therefore, to clear the mist in the air, we have compiled a list of top 10 best smartphones under Rs 10000.
Best Smartphones Under Rs 10000
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro
The Redmi Note 7 Pro is probably one of the best offerings from Xiaomi. Even though it’s around a year old now, the phone offers quite capable hardware. The phone was launched for Rs 14,999 but, you can now buy it for Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999 for 4/64GB and 6/64GB variants, respectively.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, which offers excellent performance. There’s everyone’s favorite Sony IMX 586, which is a 48MP resolution sensor, followed by a 5MP depth sensor. There is a 4000mAh battery, which will easily last a day of average usage.

The display is FHD+, which is a good thing. Almost a year after the launch, the phone still provides excellent value for money, and we don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t get it. Hence it is one of the top 10 best smartphones under Rs. 10000.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S
Redmi Note 7s was unveiled alongside Redmi Note 7 Pro. There aren’t any significant differences between Note 7 Pro and 7s except the processor on the 7s being a Snapdragon 660 and a 32GB variant to choose. It is available for the same price as Note 7 Pro.
Now, we know that doesn’t make any sense but, we suggest you wait till Flipkart’s Big Billion sale and get one as the prices of this phone are supposed to drop significantly. If we had to guess, the phone would cost around Rs 7,000 in the sale, and surely is an excellent bang for the buck.

Realme 5i
Realme has taken a significant market share in the Indian market. The company has always been aggressive when it comes to pricing its smartphones, and Realme 5i is the perfect example. The phone comes with a Quad Camera setup (12MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP) at the back and 8MP shooter at the front.
The fact that it is powered by an efficient Snapdragon 665 SoC, and is paired with 5000mAh battery makes this phone a battery monster. Not to mention the HD display, which will also help improve the “screen-on time,” making it a perfect phone for the elderly people.

While the screen will surely increase the battery performance, the pixels might still be visible to annoy you a little bit. Hence it is one of the top 10 best smartphones under Rs 10000.

Realme C3
The “C” series of Realme is aimed at the sub 8k price bracket. The Realme C3 costs Rs. 6,999 for the 3/32GB base variant and Rs 7,999 for a 4/64GB option. It has an HD display, a MediaTek Helio G70 processor. ARMs Cortex A-75 cores power the Helio G70 which means the RAW performance will be excellent. This phone could be for people in need of a powerful secondary phone.
Honestly, for the price of Rs 6,999 and 7,999, you cannot ask more, and this phone packs an enormous punch for its price. Affordable gamers might want to consider something else as MediaTek has had a pretty lousy track record with their Mali GPUs, which means gaming on this phone might be underwhelming. It is one of the top 10 best smartphones under Rs 10000.

Vivo U20
Since it shifted its focus from its “Moonlight Selfies,” Vivo has been doing a pretty good job. The competition from contenders like Xiaomi and Realme has been fierce, and this might be the reason why Vivo started focusing on providing better specs at less price.
For starters, the phone offers a triple camera setup 16MP+8MP+2MP, with the primary camera being the Sony IMX499 with EIS. The battery is 5000mAh, and a Snapdragon 675 powers it. The display is Full HD+, and it supports 18W fast charging via Micro-USB (Time to upgrade to Type-C, Vivo)

Funtouch OS is not our cup of tea as it looks cartoonish. The UI itself is sluggish with too many features that we wish it didn’t have. It’s always better to have a couple of great “well-optimized” features rather than having too many irresponsive features with bugs.
The phone is available for Rs. 10,990 and Rs 11,990 for 4/64GB and 6/6GB variants, respectively. Hence it is one of the top 10 best smartphones under Rs 10000.

Xiaomi Redmi 8A
Redmi 8A is yet another excellent budget offering from Xiaomi. There’s a Snapdragon 439 processor under the hood, and when coupled with 5000mAh battery should last for two days on a single charge. The phone is P2i splash-proof, and the display is HD. There’s a single 12MP camera at the back coupled with an 8MP selfie shooter.
The phone is available for Rs. 6,499 and Rs. 6,999 for 2/32GB and 3/32GB, respectively. A 64GB variant would’ve made things sweeter but, you can’t expect more when the price is less. We don’t see USB Type-C in phones from Samsung, which costs around Rs 20,000, and Xiaomi is providing it in their low-end phone, which costs three times less, which is impressive.

BUY XIAOMI REDMI 8A
Redmi 8
The only differences between the Redmi 8 and 8A are, Redmi 8 packs an extra 2MP depth sensor, and 4/64GB variant. The phone costs Rs. 7,999, and it is hands down the best value for money phone in the market. The fact that both the Redmi 8 and 8A have Type-C ports at this price in mind-blowing.

Vivo U10
The predecessor of U20, the U10, packs decent specifications for an asking price of INR 8990. With Snapdragon 665 SoC under the hood and 5000mAh battery, the smartphone should provide enough juice to last for two days on a single charge. The display is an HD panel, something that you cannot complain at this price point.
It is available in only a 3/32GB variant. We think it is a perfect phone for people looking to use it as their secondary phone or to do “typical” phone stuff like calling, etc. We wish it had Type-C but, Vivo has done a great job with this one.

BUY VIVO U10
Realme 5S
Realme 5s is yet another great offering from realme. The phone comes with a quad-camera setup (48 MP primary lens, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2 MP Super Macro lens, and 2 MP portrait lens). The battery is a gigantic 5000mAh and should last for two days easily on a single charge.
The phone is also available in the 128GB variant and costs Rs. 10,999, which is excellent. There’s a Snapdragon 665 SoC running the show. A smartphone that offers 128GB storage at Rs. 10,999 is what most of the content consumers will be looking for, and we think Realme has done a fantastic job here.

BUY REALME 5S
Realme 3
You didn’t expect this phone to be on this list, did you?. We added this smartphone to the list based on what it has to offer for an asking price of Rs 7,499.
This time around, its the MediaTek P70 running the show, which is still a great processor when it comes to raw performance. There are two cameras at the rear (13MP + 2MP) and one 13MP shooter at the front. The price-to-performance ratio is excellent. Hence this phone made it to the top 10 best smartphones.
[table id=24 /]
BUY REALME 3
If you’re wondering why the list is full of Realme and Xiaomi devices, it’s because there are no good smartphones under Rs. 10,000, which comes close to what these two companies have got to offer. Good phones are maturing, and flagships are growing to be more expensive. The day when we’ll see flagship features in budget phones is not far from being a reality.
