HydrogenOS Closed Beta Leaks Reveals Android 9.0 Pie For OnePlus 5T

We had a recent report of OnePlus testing their Android Pie update on the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T, but this was only available for Chinese users. But now, there’s a leak popping out, claiming the HyrdogenOS closed beta firmware based on Android Pie has been leaked for the OnePlus 5T.

Just in case if you’re new to the OnePlus ecosystem, the company maintains two different versions of its software i.e HydrogenOS is what they install on their smartphones that are sold in China, while OxygenOS is the global firmware.

Well, some global fans also enjoy HydrogenOS (totally a personal preference). The firmware leaks that any OnePlus 5T user can try out the new update. We do have the changelog, thanks to the folks at XDA.

OnePlus 5T Pie Changelog:

  • New OnePlus UI.
  • New background controls for a smoother experience.
  • New full-screen gestures (5T only) Android P shutdown interface icon Replace, and support advanced restart communication.
  • SMS verification code to open the display.
  • The strange number identification function is optimized.
  • Dual card mode is added to set the default card for a single contact or group.
  • Weather apps and call UI are optimized.

Not just the changelog, they were able to provide the original Baidu download link for the firmware (Google Drive link for easy going). If you’re guessing, whether this can be installed on OnePlus 5, let’s us clear, it can be. However, if you do, the fingerprint sensor on OnePlus 5 will not work.
