Google has launched its flagship smartphone – Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, after a much anticipation. The Google Pixel 3 is priced at US$799 (US$150 more expensive than the Pixel 2), while the Pixel 3 XL is priced at US$899, which is US$50 pricier than the last year’s Pixel 2 XL.

What Google Pixels Offers? Pricing?
Well, Google has shown significant increases in prices, which many people are disappointed with, especially when OEMs like OnePlus is offering almost the same speced smartphone at a significantly low price. Do note, these aren’t the most expensive smartphones out there – Apple and Samsung go way higher.
Well, specs aren’t everything. The Pixel 3 features an amazing camera and much like any of the Pixel, it will get Android updates first. But again, it doesn’t justify the pricing especially when there are some areas where Google could have improved;
- Built-in storage: You’re still choosing between 64GB or 128GB of storage with the Pixel 3, which is the same as last year. The lack of 256GB or 512GB models or say the inability to expand the storage is saddening (c’mon Google, even Samsung and Apple does).
- 4GB RAM? That’s the same amount of memory last years Pixel 2 and 2 XL had. This comes when other Android smartphones come either on 6GB or 8GB RAM.
- No 4K 60FPS, NO 1080p 240FPS: Google baffles about the camera feature, but it is 2018, and Pixels lacks the 240FPS slo-mo videos and other related features, which does bother me.
- Smaller battery in Pixel 3 XL: The smaller model is getting a battery bump, while the bigger one is losing a bit of capacity. The Pixel 3 XL (3,430mAh) has a slightly smaller battery than the 2 XL which is 3,520mAh, What?
