Qualcomm has announced the expansion of Qualcomm Spectra Module Program. Introducing Qualcomm Depth Sensing camera technology for android, which will improve biometric authentication and high-resolution depth sensing.

Qualcomm Depth Sensing Camera Technology
This technology is designed to meet growing demands of photo and video for a broad range of mobile devices and head mounted displays (HMD). This will use next-generation Qualcomm Spectra ISP and camera modules.
The camera module program now adds a trio of camera modules, which includes iris authentication module, passive depth sensing module, and an active depth sensing module. This is capable of employing active sensing for superior biometric authentication, and a variety of computer vision applications that require real-time, dense depth map generation and segmentation.

Qualcomm has also introduced second-generation Qualcomm Spectra ISP that utilizes new hardware and software architecture, which apparently advances computer vision, image quality and power efficiency in future Qualcomm chipsets.
In addition to that, it features a multi-frame noise reduction for superior photographic quality with hardware accelerated motion compensated temporal filtering (MCTF) and inline electronic image stabilization (EIS) for superior video quality.
