Amazon Pay Balance now supports Mobile recharges. Although the feature is listed on the Amazon website as well on their mobile app but it is still in beta. So, how does it work?

Amazon Pay Balance Supports Mobile Recharges

Amazon’s mobile wallet app Amazon Pay is competition to current wallets in the market such as Paytm, MobiKwik, Freecharge, and others. Working is pretty nimble, when a user goes to the Amazon Pay Section, they should see the Mobile Recharge listed as one of the options after Gift Card.

Amazon Pay Balance 3What next? load some cash from the bank to Amazon Pay Balance, enter their mobile number, operator/region, and the amount, recharge done, simple as that. Mobile recharges are pretty popular and common in India, so, it not shocking to see Amazon adding this feature.

Amazon is offering up to 100 percent cash back on the first recharge is done with Amazon Pay Balance, though the cash back limit is Rs 50. On the flip side, Amazon Pay doesn’t yet support recharges for Airtel network.

Some note worthy things are Amazon Pay doesn’t support postpaid bill payments, you cannot pay for services like electricity, water etc from this yet. The Help and FAQ pages say that the features will be launched soon.

  • Recharge order once placed cannot be canceled.
  • You can use credit or debit cards, net banking and Amazon Pay Balance to pay for prepaid recharges on your mobile, but there’s no cash on delivery.
