The largest professional network; LinkedIn has launched LinkedIn Lite mobile app for Android. The Microsoft-owned company has launched LinkedIn Lite mobile website in Septemeber last year.

LinkedIn Lite Launched In India
The app weighs less than 1MB has been made in India and will be expanded to over 60 countries in the coming weeks. LinkedIn has targetted the user with a slower data network, expensive data plans, and low-end mobile handsets.
The Lite app is a toned down version of the original app. The pages load under five seconds and reduce data usage by more than 80 percent. Not to mention, the app does have all the features like new feed, jobs, profile, messaging, notifications and search.

In addition to this, recently, Twitter has rolled out Twitter Lite, Facebook has launched Facebook Messenger Lite and YouTube unveiled YouTube Go. The LinkedIn Lite is currently available for Android and there are no plans for an iOS version as Android accounts for 97 percent of all smartphones in use in India.
