RED, a brand known for its high-end cameras, announced its entry into smartphone industry with the RED Hydrogen One. Obviously an Android smartphone with world’s first holographic display. Welcome to the future!

RED Hydrogen One; World’s First Holographic Phone

Well, we are excited to hear this coming. The smartphone uses nanotechnology, which helps it to seamlessly switch between traditional 2D content, holographic multi-view content, 3D content and interactive games. It will come with internal storage and an external micro SD card slot, a selfie camera, and a back camera.

Untitled 2 2Although, the teaser of the Hydrogen One shows 3.5mm standard audio jack and USB-C with connector pins (probably) for modules. Apparently, RED Hydrogen One display will let you view all 2D content normally at full-screen resolution, holographic RED Hydrogen 4-view content (H4V), stereo 3D content and 2D/3D VR, AR and MR.

The smartphone comes with a proprietary H3O algorithm that converts stereo sound to an expansive multi-dimensional audio, making it a 5.1 on headphones. It will be a modular phone, that will have high-speed data bus to attach modular components.

RED Hydrogen OneSpeaking of modularity, as it a camera based brand, we can think of mods that will help shooting higher quality videos and images straight from your phone. RED Channel will be One Channel to find all 4-view holographic content. You can create (.h4v) content, upload, download and even stream.

The RED Hydrogen One starts at US$1,195 (Rs 77,340 roughly) for aluminum version and the titanium version costs $1,595 (almost around Rs 1,03,235) for a limited time. It is available for pre-order and is expected to ship in Q1 2018.
