Chipset maker Qualcomm made quite a few announcements at Mobile World Congress Shanghai. Qualcomm revealed the upcoming new platforms for smartphones, wearables and IoT (Internet of Things).

Snapdragon Wear 1200 Platform For Wearables & IoT
Qualcomm has unveiled its latest budget-end chipset; Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 and now the company has something for wearable market. With all its compliments Qualcomm has unveiled Snapdragon Wear 1200, a mix of Snapdragon Wear 1100 and Snapdragon Wear 2100.
The platform comes with an LTE SoC, power management integrated circuit, wireless transceiver, ultra-low power management operation, and global multimode M1/NB1/E-GPRS modem with support for 15 global RF bands, which is certified by major carriers around the globe.

More On Snapdragon Wear 1200 Platform
The platform comes with integrated applications processor (up to 1.3GHz) for Linux and ThreadX based apps. It also supports almost every other location services like GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou constellations, low power geofencing, and cloud-based location services.
In addition to that, it supports VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The Snapdragon Wear 1200 platform brings in LTE categories M1 (eMTC) and NB1 (NB-IoT) connectivity to the wearable industry. This new chip is commercially available and shipping today.
