Essential has unveiled its first smartphone called Essential Phone today. The company is backed by Andy Rubin, co-founder of Android. Apart from the phone, the brand has unveiled its smart speaker called Essential Home, which competes with Amazon Echo and Google Home.

Essential Home; Amazon Echo & Google Home Rival
This is an intelligent speaker that works as a hub for all your smart home devices. It sits on a flat surface and comes with an always-on round display, which auto adjusts according to the lighting conditions.
The device can be controlled through touch and voice and as this is an Amazon Echo and Google Home rival, it can also be used to control lights, play music and get responses for various queries from the web.

Into Essential Home
The Essential Home is powered by Ambient OS, which puts privacy first. The device focuses on giving suggestions rather than taking control of IoT devices in your home. Very much similar to other smart assistants, Essential Home also gives out onscreen alerts, upcoming event reminders and more. The device will be launched in the US the coming weeks.
