Ola For Android Adds UPI Payment Option To Selected Users; Update!

India is getting digitally active not only by its users but also by its providers. Lately, there had been a lot of companies adding cashless service to the users.




Ola has updated its Android app to accept payments via Unified Payments Interface (UPI). So, through this users can pay for rides directly from their bank account, in addition to already available Ola Money, Cash and credit/debit card payments options.

The UPI payment method is available in the latest Android version (V4.2.9) of the app on Google Play but only for selected users. The UPI enables cashless payments across all sectors without involving any third party gateways or e-wallets.

As above mentioned, the company is rolling out this feature only to selected users. The release note on Play Store mention – “More ways to go cashless: Now add UPI ID as a payment method & pay for your rides directly from your bank account. Available for a select few users.”

Additional Features!

Other features in the new version of the app are the ability to apply coupons on Share rides. And addition to that the company brings back the old Share Pass referrals feature. If you don’t find the option like we did, not to worry, as it’s being tested and it will be available to all in the near future.
