WhatsApp Status Feature
Similar to Snapchat and Instagram Stories, WhatsApp Status will disappear after 24 hours. You can tap to move to the (see the) next status, edit and post photos, videos and GIFs as your status. This could take away the messaging to the next level as till now you can only write plain simple text with some added emojis as your status, but this update will change the way you look at WhatsApp.
Addition to that, all the status updates you are sharing with your contacts on WhatsApp will be end-to-end encrypted. And users will have the ability to control who can see their status from privacy settings. The update could be also because of WhatsApp’s 8th birthday on February 24 (maybe, lol).
