Unlock Bootloader Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 [Fix-Stuck at 50%] [Official]

This is the complete guide to successfully Unlock Bootloader Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Kenzo).

Please follow the steps carefully.

This method can also be used for other Xiaomi devices in general.

Unlock Bootloader

Step 1: You’ve to be running on Global Developer ROM.

How to Install the Global Developer ROM you ask?

It’s very easy!

  • Go to Updater app.
  • Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner.
  • Click on Choose Update Package.

Unlock Bootloader

  • Now click on the Global Developer ROM that you just downloaded and proceed.

Note: Although you won’t be losing any data by doing this, but I still suggest you, take a backup on your PC, just in case!

Enjoy the new ROM!



Step 2: The second important thing to do is to get permission to unlock the bootloader from Xiaomi. Visit: http://en.miui.com/unlock/

You’ll have to provide your Name and Phone number along with a genuine reason for which you want to unlock the bootloader. You’ll most probably get a confirmation message from Xiaomi via text message within 2 days. Be patient!

Step 3: So, you got the unlocking permission. What’s next?

Now this is the solution to the famous “Stuck at 50% issue”

  • Sign in to your Mi Account app(on your phone obviously)
  • Now, Sign in to your Mi account on your PC here https://i.mi.com/
  • Click on Find Device

You’ll be able to see your location now.

Step 4: You’ve to go to Developer Settings.

In order to get there:

  •  Settings > About Phone > MIUI version (Tap on it several times to enable the Developer options)
  • Now go to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options

In here you have to enable OEM unlocking, USB Debugging and Install via USB.

Step 5: Download and install Android Bootloader Interface corresponding to your Windows OS from here https://goo.gl/6PP3cH



Step 6: Download and Unzip the Mi Unlock Flash Tool from here https://goo.gl/Jxv9h1

The Final Step

Step 7: Open Mi Unlock tool and login to your Mi account using your credentials.

Now, you’ve to boot up your phone into Fastboot mode.



To get into Fastboot mode,
  • Switch off your device.
  • Hold down the Volume down and Power button simultaneously for 3 seconds and you’ll be greeted with a Mi Bunny.
  • Connect your phone to PC via USB. The Mi Unlock tool will detect your phone.
  • Once detected, click the UNLOCK button.
  • Click Reboot Phone.

Hurray!! You should have Unlocked the Bootloader by now. Now you can easily install any custom recovery and/or custom ROMs.
