Facebook Messenger Camera

Facebook is testing a much similar in-app camera in Ireland. Messenger Camera is meant to make it faster, simpler, and more fun to send and receive photos and videos. Well, there is a difference Facebook has kept apart from copying Snapchat’s idea is photos exchanged via Messenger Camera does not disappear after they are sent.

Still, there are many similarities which directly links up the resemblance of Snapchat’s idea. Addition to the standard text, doodle, stickers, and emoji, you can also add your photos. Yes, Messenger Camera includes the animated “masks” (much like Snapchat selfie lenses) which is taken from Facebook-owned MSQRD (known for selfie masking, the first step from Facebook towards to copy the idea of Snapchat).

Facebook Messenger Camera also includes a set of effects that makes photos look like Prisma style art, which is powered by Facebook’s own AI-powered style transfer.
