YouTube Reveals What Indians Watched And Shared The Most In 2016

YouTube is one the main source of media especially when India is revolutionizing digitally and now as the year ends, YouTube have shared the most trending videos that entertained the Indian people.

YouTube Rewind announces some of the top trending videos, music videos, Bollywood trailers of the year 2016. The ranking is done on the basis of time spent watching, sharing, commenting, liking and more on YouTube.

YouTube revealed that Rajinikanth starred Kabali (hands down) ruled the charts to become the top-trending movie trailer of the year. Standup comedian Kapil Sharma‘s Show featuring Salman Khan, followed by the TVF’s Playing truth or dare with dad and AIB’s honest portrayals of bars and restaurants, climbed the top of trending videos of the year.

In music, Kala Chashma ruled 2016 with over 45 million views, followed by Kar Gayi Chull and Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai. And while talking about movies, after Rajnikanth’s Kabali, Aamir Khan’s Dangal followed by Salman Khan’s Sultan topped the category. The biopic of MS Dhoni featuring Sushant Singh Rajput was also a reputational hit.

People sometimes watch and like the ads. Audiences were willing to invest their time on ads that are narrative-driven and take up a storytelling approach. In fact, seven out of top 10 most watched ads in 2016 were over 90 seconds. #Dettolsheronkepanje was the most viewed ads for 2016 with almost 13 million views, followed by #Ranveerchingreturns and Amazon’s #ApniDukaan.
