The announcement was pretty much expected. Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Jio, Mukesh Ambani, today announced an extension to Reliance Jio’s popular Welcome Offer.
New Subscribers and Existing Subscribers?
Starting December 4, new subscribers will be added to the new offer, while the existing subscribers will continue to be on the Welcome Offer. But after December 31, the existing users will automatically be migrated to Happy New Year offer.
Again, subscribers will be able to enjoy all the same services but there is a minor change in FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit. As, a part of the offer, Jio users will get to access unlimited free voice call and video call across India but the unlimited high-speed 4G data cap has been reduced to 1GB/day. If a user crosses the 1GB per day limit, their data speed will be reduced to 128Kbps for rest of the day until they hit the next day (12:00AM).

Mukesh Ambani speech included Jio’s milestone of having 50 million subscribers in less than 3 months with 600,000 users signing up every single day. Jio users who on an average are using 25 times more data than average Indian broadband user and these kinds of numbers, it is little wonder that Jio wants to continue with its free offer, he added.
