Slower PC is a problem that nearly every Windows 10 user faces. Most of the people end up blaming the manufacturer for using faulty parts for manufacturing while clearly, that might not be the case most of the time.
There could be plenty of reasons why your Windows laptop boots slowly. Some of the reasons are running too many apps on startup and malware. Try disabling the startup apps by searching for startup apps in the Start menu and unchecking them in the Settings. To see if your PC is infected by malware.
- Go to the Start menu and search for Windows Defender.
- Run a Quick scan and wait for it to complete. Remove the malware if detected.

Too Many Notifications

Stop Windows From Using 4G Data
Windows 10 often uses a lot of internet bandwidth, which can mess up your data plan and usage. You can turn it off, so it does not run in the background
- In Settings. Select Network & Internet.
- Choose Wi-Fi and then click on Advanced Options.
- Select the Set as metered connection option ON to stop Windows from fetching unnecessary data updates.

- Press Win + X and open Command Prompt (as Administrator).
- Type in “reg delete HKCR\CLSID\{988248f3-alad-4 netcfg -v -u dni_dne”

- Open Device Manager
- Expand on Network adapters. Right-click the available wireless adapter and choose Update Driver Software.
Can’t Install Windows Updates
If you have an unreliable internet connection and if you try to download a Windows Update and if the installation fails, chances are the downloaded update is corrupt.
Removing the corrupted files solves this issue, and this can be done easily by;
- Press Win+R keys to open the Run dialog
- Type “C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download” and press OK
- File Explorer gets open – delete all the files/folders in this directory (in case you can’t delete the files, boot Windows into ‘safe mode’ and then try deleting the files)
- Restart your PC and try running the Windows Update again
