The Samsung Galaxy S20 series launch is around the corner (February 11). In the past few weeks, we have seen a tremendous amount of leaks surfacing, which included codenames, design, cameras, full specifications, and even the pricing (what’s left?). So, this is the roundup of everything we know so far about the upcoming flagship from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S20: The Next Flagship

Samsung’s next flagship, i.e. Galaxy S20 codenamed Picasso, which indicates that the smartphone will be all about the camera. If you aren’t already curious about the name change, let us be clear, Samsung has decided to change branding and would call the top-end model Galaxy S20 Ultra, mid-end the Galaxy S20+ and the lower-end variant Galaxy S20.

Thanks to inadvertent leaks, we have official press render of the Galaxy S20 lineup, props to the famous and reliable leakster Ishan Agarwal. From a design perspective, the standout features are the new front selfie camera and also (not to forget) thinner bezels.

Samsung Galaxy S20: Display

As mentioned above, Samsung is increasing screen sizes with the new Galaxy S20 series. So, here’s what you will get;

  • Samsung Galaxy S20 – 6.2-inch display
  • Samsung Galaxy S20+ – 6.7-inch display
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra – 6.9-inch display

To the surprise, XDA’s Max Weinbach revealed that Samsung would drop its iconic Edge display from the Galaxy S20 series. We cannot deny the fact that the Edge display had some fans that might see this as a deal-breaker.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Series: Specifications

The recent leak from MySmartPrice with the leakster Ishan Agarwal revealed the full specifications for the Galaxy S20 range. The main highlights are that the smartphone will have new massive screen sizes, increased battery capacities, and notably, the most significant camera upgrade.

The Galaxy S20 will be powered by Exynos 990 / Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC (in some market). Speaking of Snapdragon 865 SoC, it has 20% faster graphics rendering and 35% more power efficiency than the Snapdragon 855 in the Galaxy S10. The South-Korean company will also upgrade the memory from LPDDR4 to LPDD5, which will provide 30% faster, 30% more efficient.

Furthermore, the smartphone will have a minimum of 12GB RAM with up to 16GB in the flagship Galaxy S20 Ultra. Apart from that, the flagship comes with WiFi 6 and will retain the microSD expansion slot. Yes, the headphone jack has gone, not a surprise anyway.

Although Samsung is not expected to introduce a Face ID rival but will add a supersized Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max fingerprint sensor to the Galaxy S20, which is 17x more substantial than the sensor used in the Galaxy S10.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Series: Cameras

From the specification (you see above), Samsung Galaxy S20 will sport a 48MP telephoto lens, which is capable of 5x optical zoom, alongside a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, a ToF flight sensor and lastly, and a massive 108-megapixel primary camera on the Galaxy S20 Ultra model.

The 108-megapixel uses pixel binning technology to create one sizeable 2.4μm pixel with 12-megapixel final image size. Of course, these technologies lead to dramatic improvements in low light photography. The popular leaker, OnLeaks have also revealed the final design of the Galaxy S20 camera, apparently confirming the camera layout.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Series: Battery

The Galaxy S20 will be coming with 5G, so expect it to consume more battery life. So, here’s what Galaxy S20 series will bring;

  • Galaxy S20 – 4,000 mAh battery
  • Galaxy S20+: 4,500 mAh battery
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra: 5,000 mAh battery

The flagship will be (or so speculated to be) equipped with 45W ‘Super Fast’ charging is also expected to come as standard.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Series: Pricing

Samsung is easily one of the most leaked smartphones, and the only tightly guarded secret is the pricing. Well, XDA’s Max Weinberg revealed Samsung will price its line-up between the following price points in Europe;

  • Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G: €1050 – €1100
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G: €1300
