Realme X: Design And Display

Realme X drive a lot of design inspiration from the Realme 3 Pro. Be it the plastic build or the blue and purple gradient color variant makes an S-shaped light-trail and a signature yellow ring around the primary camera. However, the Realme X is the first phone from the brand to offer an edge-to-edge display.

Speaking of the display, the Realme X comes with a 6.3-inch AMOLED panel (supplied by Samsung) stretches all the way to the edges, with thin bezels present only at the bottom. What about the selfie camera you might ask? the 16-megapixel front camera is housed in a pop-up module that stays flush to the body when not in use.

Apart from that, there’s also an optical in-display fingerprint sensor that’s supplied by Qualcomm, apparently making Realme X the third smartphone with Qualcomm’s tech for authentication, the OnePlus 7 Pro and the Galaxy S10 being the other two.

Realme X: Processor Power

The Realme X is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset and is easily one of the better mid-range chipsets out there. This processor will be smooth enough to handle day-to-day usage with ease. We have already seen a good gaming performance on this processor, so expect some fluid PUBG and Asphalt 9 gameplay.

The Snapdragon 710 is notably an impressive processor for gaming. We tested the Realme 3 Pro and ran games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 at high graphics and found the performance to be smooth and largely lag-free.

Realme X: 48-Megapixel Camera

48-megapixel smartphones have become a buzzword and Realme X check marks it anyway. Some other 48MP camera smartphones are Redmi Note 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7 Pro and props to the same sensor, Realme X will compete alongside these smartphones and also has the possibility of offering similar high-quality photos.

Apart from the 48-megapixel thingy, the camera on Realme X is backed by modes like Nightscape that lets you capture clear and impressive low-light shots. There’s Chroma Boost that can make photos look rich and vivid by boosting saturation and much more.  Furthermore, the Realme X can shoot 960fps slo-mo videos, but not as slow as the 960 FPS super slo-mo mode in the Galaxy S10.

Realme X: Pop-Open Selfie Game

Not the newest in the town to include a pop-up camera mechanism but is one of the cheapest phones to get this mechanism, which could possibly drive some user attention towards it. The pop-up camera is placed at the top center as Realme believes it’s the best position for capturing selfies.

Some technicalities, the pop-up camera rises in about 0.7 seconds and can retract automatically when detecting fall, which OnePlus boasts on its OnePlus 7 Pro. With this, one thing is for sure, Realme X is trying to hold off the market left out by OnePlus.
