Samsung has finally announced their mid-range smartphone- Samsung Galaxy A8s with Infinity-O display. The Infinity-O display refers to a small cutout on the display housing the front camera. The Galaxy A8s comes with a 6.4-inches FHD+ display. The cutout is 6.7mm thick compared to 4.5mm on the Honor V20.

Underneath the display, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 Octa-Core chipset along with 6GB/8GB of RAM. Both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants come with internal storage of 128GB and can be further expanded to 512GB via microSD card slot. It runs on Android 8.1 with Samsung’s Experience UI on top of it.

The Galaxy A8s comes with a set of triple rear cameras. Those include a 24-megapixel at f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel telephoto lenses at f/2.4 aperture, and a 5-megapixel depth camera at f/2.2 aperture. There’s a front-facing camera placed inside the cutout of the display. It is a 24-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

The rear side of the smartphone also acts as a housing for the fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy A8s supports Dual SIM with Dual 4G VoLTE and NFC. The battery capacity for the 6GB RAM variant is 3,300 mAh whereas the 8GB RAM variant is 3,400 mAh. Both these variants support Samsung’s adaptive fast charge technology.

The Galaxy A8s comes in Elf Blue, Aurora Black, Gray, and Green color variants. The Samsung Galaxy A8s is priced at US$ 434 for the 6GB variant. It’ll be available for pre-order starting today in China. The Elf Blue and Aurora Black will be available from January 15th however.
