Qualcomm Launches Snapdragon 632, 439 And 429 Processors For Mid-Range Phones

Qualcomm has introduced three new processor designed for phones and tablets that are joining the company’s Snapdragon 600 and 400 lineup. These new chipsets arrive in the form of the Snapdragon 632, Snapdragon 439 and the Snapdragon 429. The wildly popular series already account for more than 3,650 commercial devices to date.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 632

When it comes to the 600 series, Qualcomm packs in the most of the features (asked) at affordable and this is something Snapdragon 632 is captivated for. Well, the chipset focuses on 4K video capture, general performance, security and camera features. It supports single 24-megapixel cameras or dual 13-megapixel cameras and other features like real-time bokeh and wide-angle capturing.

Well, in technical terms, the Snapdragon 632 is an octa-core processor consisting of four performance cores and four efficiency cores, which the company states will result in a 40-percent performance increase, compared to Snapdragon 626 and padding with Adreno 506 GPU results in 10 percent performance increase.

Snapdragon 439 And Snapdragon 429

The 400 family of chips are designed for the price-sensitive option with (of course) great mobile experience. So clearly these chipsets are not quite as rich in features as the new Snapdragon 632 but offer balanced experience.

Well, the Snapdragon 439 is slightly is on the higher side and features octa-core chip coupled with Adreno 505 GPU, while the Snapdragon 429 is a quad-core chip padded with Adreno 504 GPU. In contrast, both the chipset said to offer a 25 percent performance increase.

The Snapdragon 439 supports single 21-megapixel cameras (or dual 8-megapixel cameras) along with support for FHD+ displays – as does the Snapdragon 632. While the 429 supports 16-megapixel single cameras (also dual 8-megapixel cameras) along with an HD+ level of display support.

Qualcomm has not confirmed which devices will employ the Snapdragon 632, 439 or 429, although the company did state that the first devices powered by these solutions are expected to arrive in the second-half of this year.
