Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000: A Dedicated Laptop Processor!

Qualcomm has been continuously working and improvising upon their smartphone processors. Well, Qualcomm surprised the world by powering Windows 10 laptops with Snapdragon 845 processors. Furthermore, now Qualcomm is taking this serious with the latest Snapdragon 1000 processors.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000: Expected Features

Since Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 will be powering Window 10 laptops, hence it needs to be powerful and efficient as well. This supercharged processor called the Snapdragon 1000 will provide laptops serious performance boost. The processor might be running on 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Furthermore, these processors will offer always-on connectivity (over LTE/4G).

We can except up to 20 hours of battery life on the Snapdragon 1000. According to a reliable source WinFuture, we can except a relatively large 20mm x 15mm design (offering room for more cores), and it may draw a hefty 12W of power. Moreover, according to a new job listing by a Qualcomm engineer on LinkedIn, it has been confirmed that the processor is in testing for various Windows 10 on ARM applications, including desktop, Andromeda, and HoloLens.

Well, Snapdragon 1000 may also include Gigabit WLAN and is said to feature a newly developed power management chip to handle increased power and power consumption.
