Android OS is known for its customization. And taking a step further, now users can set Amazon Alexa has their default personal assistant over any other assistant including Google Assistant on Android phones and can be accessed by holding down the home button.

Set Amazon Alexa As Your Default Voice Assistant
A Redditor pointed out that the possibility of changing your default personal assistant from Google Assistant or Microsoft’s Cortana to Amazon Alexa. Well, setting up Alexa on Android is pretty simple, but might vary depending on which device you have.
Here Is How?
Headover to Settings > App & Notifications > Default apps > Assist & Voice input > Select “Amazon Alexa” as your new default. You’re done.
It is worth noting that Alexa’s functionality on Android is pretty limited, as in can’t pull up maps or make native calls, but can do a quick Google search. You can’t activate Alexa by calling its name or by squeezing your phone.

Users on Reddit also confirmed seeing the new option to add Alexa on their Google Pixel 2, One Plus 5, One Plus One, Xperia, Moto G5 Plus, Essential Phone 1, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S9 devices.
