New Set Of Android Controls

According to The Washington PostGoogle may announce a new set of controls for its Android operating system tomorrow at its annual developer conference that will help individuals and families manage the time they spend on mobile devices.

The idea behind this is that people may need some technological help to limit the amount of time they spend on their smartphones. Earlier, Apple was warned by its own investors that kids are overusing iPhones, to which Apple responded with a commitment to improving its mobile parental control systems.

This won’t be the first time Google has created controls for monitoring phone use. Google has earlier offered a set of family control tools called Family Link, which let parents restrict their children’s app usage time and remotely lock devices.

According to the Post’s sources, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai is set to focus on the theme of responsibility instead of straight technology. Also expanding similar options like this to adults can only help manage the public perception of Gooogle as a mobile device maker.
