Paytm Launches Paytm Mall; An E-Commerce Marketplace For Business

Paytm Mall Bazaar Online Alibaba

Paytm launched Paytm Mall, an e-commerce marketplace for business. Paytm has taken over the digital payment sector widely, especially after the demonisation. Paytm already had the e-commerce segment but it didn’t really match up with the top e-commerce websites like Amazon, Flipkart and so on.

Well, Paytm has also claimed to have crossed 200 million users milestone, to make a perspective the SBI (State Bank of India) has 200 million users, but Paytm claims to have crossed that milestone. The company has launched a new dedicated app and website called ‘Paytm Mall’, the online marketplace for business.

Paytm Mall: The Marketplace For Business

Paytm Mall is a marketplace or a dedicated e-commerce app and website. Paytm Mall will have two states of e-commerce (A Mall and Bazaar concept). Paytm Mall will focus on brand authorized stores, electronics, FMCG categories and all, while the Bazaar section will focus on home furnishings, good from small sellers and so on.

Paytm Mall

Paytm Mall has over 1.4 million sellers on board for the platform, across all the categories like fashion, electronics, consumer durables, home furnishing and so on. Paytm claimed to only have trusted sellers (especially after passing the strict guidelines and qualification criteria). Unlike Amazon and Flipkart, all the products listed on the Mall will also go through a Paytm certified warehouse and shipping channels ensuring guaranteed consumer trust.

Similarities

The app looks pretty similar or say ditto copy of the Paytm app but without a wallet. It clearly indicates that the Paytm is separating its Paytm Payments Bank (which is going to roll out soon) with its e-commerce marketplace. However, a Paytm representative confirmed that the Paytm app would continue to offer the buying, booking and resting service, this similar feature would also be available on Paytm Mall app too.

Paytm Mall

Not forget, Paytm Mall might be an e-commerce marketplace from Paytm but again for payments, it asks you to login to Paytm, through which it gives you options to make payments. The app is only available on Android (as of now), but expected to launch soon on iOS and in addition, Paytm Seller app is also scheduled to launch which will be available in seven regional languages for easy use.

Saurabh Vashishtha, Vice President of Paytm, said;

Through Paytm Mall, our aim is to offer consumers the most trusted shopping experience. We have defined quality criteria for sellers and are building strict controls over warehousing and shipping for products sold on Paytm Mall. Consumers would continue to get the largest assortment of domestic and international products through Paytm Bazaar, which will also be featured on the new app.
