Google Pixel and Pixel XL Update Brings Double Tap and Lift To Wake

Google Pixel and Pixel XL has released a month ago with a lot of drawbacks like no water resistant and a lot more. But one among them was the double tap feature, which is one of the most common among phones.

Google Pixel Pixel XLWell, not worry anymore Google Pixel and Pixel smartphones have started receiving a software update in Canada today. Regardless of which carrier you are are on, the update will bring not only double tap feature but with a couple of highly anticipated new features.

Update added two new entries to the Moves section of settings. You can now double tap your Pixel’s screen to get to wake up and see your notifications and you can achieve the same purpose simply by lifting the phone up (just like iOS 10 feature).

How To Enable It?

To make this feature working you need to enable the feature first but after that, it’s going to be a lot easier to glance at your Pixel screen without pressing the power button or using the fingerprint scanner.

The suspicious thing about this update that it carries build number NPF26J and so far the letter “P” has shown up in that second slot only for preview releases of Google’s software. Which points that it might be an accidental release or maybe the company has changed the way it codifies its build number and the presence of that “P” over there doesn’t mean anything after all.

Well, the OTA update comes around 261MB and it’s still the Android ‘7.1’ Nougat and there are no words from Google yet about the rollout hitting other countries if this wasn’t a mistake then expect this update to hit your pixel device soon.
