Amazon Unveiled New Fire HD 8 2018 With Hands-Free Alexa Support

Amazon has introduced its latest 8th generation Fire HD 8 2018, a successor to the similar specs previous Fire HD 8. The main difference between the old and the new Fire HD 8 is that the latest one comes with Alexa hands-free support.

Amazon Fire HD 8 2018: A Successor?

The Fire HD 8 2018 packs in an 8-inch (1280×800 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor, paired with 1.5GB RAM, paired with 16GB / 32GB expandable storage, runs on Android Nougat-based Fire OS 6, and a battery life of up to 10 hours (mixed usage).

Furthermore, it comes with a new 2-megapixel front camera, up from VGA in the previous generation. Apart from that, this new Fire HD 8 comes with Alexa hands-free support that lets you ask Alexa to play a song, pause a movie, video call a friend or family member, and more—using only your voice, even when your screen is on standby.

The new Fire HD 8 comes in Black, Marine Blue, Punch Red, Canary Yellow, and is priced at $79.99 (~Rs 5,767) for 16GB of storage, while the 32GB version is priced at $109.99 (~Rs 7,930). It is available for pre-order and will begin shipping on October 4 in the U.S.
