After dozens of leaks and rumors, Xiaomi finally unveiled the much-awaited Xiaomi Mi A2 at a launch event in Spain. The major highlights of the smartphone include Android One, a capable dual camera setup, and the powerful Snapdragon 660 processor. That said Xiaomi Mi A2 has some major issues that can’t be denied.

1. Smaller Battery
The Xiaomi Mi A2 offers a poor battery backup. The smartphone just packs a 3010mAh battery that might not power your smartphone for a day as well. Snapdragon 660 is the most powerful mid-range processor but at the same time, it consumes more power. So, a 3010mAh battery is not ideal to power the Mi A2. Not to mention, even the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has a better battery backup as compared to the Mi A2.
2. Slower Updates
The major reason why a user purchases an Android One smartphone is regular security patches and faster OS updates. Moreover, Xiaomi doesn’t have a good name when it comes to software updates. The Xiaomi Mi A1 received the update to Android 8.1 after around 10 months of the launch of the smartphone. Hence, we may expect that the Mi A2 won’t receive Android P any time soon.

3. Removal Of Headphone Jack
I very well know that most flagship smartphones have already removed headphone jack and we should adapt to USB-C. Well, the majority of the user who will purchase the Xiaomi Mi A2 will experience some issues using a smartphone with no headphone port, as they can’t use their earphones or headphones with their new smartphone.
4. Missing SDcard Slot
Xiaomi has also eliminated the SDcard slot on the Xiaomi Mi A2. Even though the smartphone comes in a 128GB storage variant using an SDCard has numerous benefits like additional storage and easier transfer of data to PC.
That said, the users who invest in the 32GB storage variant will find it difficult to store large media files and install heavy games on their smartphone. So, purchasing the 64GB version would be a wiser option down the ride.

5. No Stabilization? OIS or EIS?
Xiaomi is bragging about the powerful camera performance of the Xiaomi Mi A2 and it is highlighted as one of the major features of the smartphone. Well, the camera on the smartphone lacks OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which is a necessary feature that helps in using the camera to its full potential. As no one would appreciate out of focus and shaky images.

On the flipside, Xiaomi can or might enable EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), which not efficient as OIS, but is good to go. These were some major issues with the Xiaomi Mi A2, which no one is talking about.
Lastly, you can purchase the Poco F1 by spending Rs.4000 extra and get flagship features like liquid cooling, IR face unlock, and Snapdragon 845 processor. The Snapdragon 845 is almost twice as powerful as the Snapdragon 660 on the Xiaomi Mi A2. So getting the Poco F1 undoubtedly makes more sense as compared to the Xiaomi Mi A2.
The smartphone comes at a very cheap price point so these problems can be foreseen. Do share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
