Xiaomi Dipper With Snapdragon 845 Processor Spotted On Geekbench

Xiaomi will be announcing Snapdragon 845 powered Mi MIX 2S later this month and down the line, it is also expected to launch its flagship smartphone Mi 7. Well, a new Xiaomi phone codenamed Xiaomi Dipper has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmark with very little info to take home.

Xiaomi Dipper Is Xiaomi Mi 7?

Xiaomi is known to for using constellation for codenaming it Mi series smartphones. For instance, Mi 6, Mi 5S Plus, Mi 5S and Mi 5 were respectively codenamed as Sagit, Natrium, Capricorn, and Gemini. So, Dipper codename could refer to Big Dipper constellation, which could be Mi 7.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi Dipper is powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. In a single-core test, it has scored 2449 whereas, in multi-core test, it has scored 8309. Earlier, reports claimed that Qualcomm and Xiaomi have collaborated to optimize the performance of Snapdragon 845 chipset.

In addition to that, alleged firmware files of the Xiaomi Mi 7 have revealed that it may feature an OLED display along with Always-on Display. Some other reports claimed that the smartphone may feature a 6.01-inch OLED display (with in-display fingerprint sensor) from Samsung and might also feature an iPhone X-like notch. Do note, these are all speculations, leaks, and rumors, so take it with a pinch of salt.
