Just after the first 5G standard was approved two months ago, telcos have been racing to deliver next-generation mobile data to the world. Qualcomm has made two announcements indicating that the real-world 5G devices are here.

Qualcomm Powered 5G Devices
Qualcomm announced that OEM’s are committed to making 5G devices and the production will kick off in 2019, thanks to Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem. Some OEM’s that will be involved with Qualcomm is LG, Sony Mobiles, HTC, ASUS, Xiaomi, ZTE, Netgear and more.
Do note, Samsung has also announced a partnership with Qualcomm last month to work on 5G technology. Now, you may ask what is the use of the 5G-ready device if carriers don’t support? well, the chipset maker announced that 18 mobile operators around the world will be testing 5G networks on the same X50 modem. This includes AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint, Vodafone, Telstra, Deutsche Telekom, NTT Docomo and China Mobile.
