Laptops can be easily separable based on your requirements. A few that stands out, efficiently makes your life easier and much more productive. For me, it is ASUS VivoBook S15, which has taken me to a spikey hike of creativity, let me tell you why?

I’m currently using a machine, which has (literally) three-year-old specifications (and I’m embarrassed to disclose it)For me, the key pillars of any laptop for creative users should fulfill these;

  • Light-weight
  • Display
  • Performance (of course)
  • Battery
  • Other Added Features (If any? in this case, we have a lot)

ASUS VivoBook S15 Vs My Junk: Weightlessness

How heavy is this? This is probably the first thing people generally notice apart from the design. Well, to put into the perspective, my laptop weighs 3kgs and the S15 weighs just 1.7kgs, reducing down half of my stress to carry it around and weight of course.

Creative people tend to travel for their work or at least take their machine with them around the work or at least I do travel, and what could be better to have a powerpack system in your backpack and you barely even notice. How cool is that?

ASUS VivoBook S15 Vs My Junk: Display

Having a good display is one key pillar that every user needs, regardless of whether you are a creative person or not. I do a lot of photo and video editing work on the go and having a laptop equipped with true2Life (enhances clarity, vividness) is an added bonus.

It is worth noting that, having a near-bezel-less display, which ASUS calls a “NanoEdge” display is cream on the cake. This futuristic go from ASUS allows a 15.6-inch display to be packed into a thin chassis, giving out an 80-percent screen to body ratio. On the other side, my old junk has huge bezels, underutilizing the full potential, thanks, HP (oops!).

ASUS VivoBook S15 Vs My Junk: Performance

Hardware is the core computing device. Well, ASUS has taken care of the hardware components included (unlike my computer manufacturer did, for the price I paid) in making this laptop a beast in its price range. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a promotion, but a genuine feeling of a user.

ASUS VivoBook S15 4

The VivoBook S15 is powered by an 8th-gen Intel i7-8550U processor, coupled with 16GB RAM, with a massive 2TB HDD and a super-fast SSD boot drive of up to 512GB. On the flip side, my junk is powered by a 4th-generation Intel i3 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and a supermassive 512GB HDD, which somehow helps you do things, but definitely not according to your time plan, which is a big dip.

Down the line, let’s talk about the graphics processing, which is a core need for creativity. ASUS VivoBook S15 comes with the latest MX150 graphics from Nvidia. No doubt, it can easily chop 4K video editing or even video playback.

YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE UNLESS YOU’RE A GAMER. – ANONYMOUS

We all know gaming on laptops are pretty common and ASUS is one among the rare breed of companies that has a dedicated gaming line of PCs and laptops. Well, ASUS has kept going with this mainstream laptop too. Yes, without a heck of a doubt, gaming is a breeze in this.

ASUS VivoBook S15 Vs My Junk: Battery Life

It is always great to have a device, which can back you (on the go) for a long time, which my laptop clearly doesn’t do and many others in the same range too. But, VivoBook does in a pretty appreciable way. It comes added with two technology for lasting battery.

  1. SuperBattery:  A special battery preservation technology, which increases the lifespan of the battery to up to 3X times.
  2. Rapid Charge: This technology takes the battery from 0 to 60% in just 49 minutes, no I’m not kidding here.
  3. Asus Battery Health Charging App: This allows users to manually set the Relative State of Charge (RSOC) to 60%, 80% or 100%, which will apparently increase battery’s operational life.

Flipping back to my junk, it won’t survive an hour without connecting it’s lifeline (charger) to the socket. It’s bad for anyone, irrespective of whether you’re a creative person or a normal user.

ASUS VivoBook S15: Added Bonus

These are few things that will be icing on the cake;

ASUS VivoBook S15 8

  • Fingerprint sensor mounted on the touchpad to safeguard your personal data. My junk trash doesn’t have one.

  • Backlit keyboard, again, my junk doesn’t have one.
  • VGA Webcam holds quite good too, my junk’s webcam sucks.

  • It has USB-C, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Audio Jack, HDMI, Card Reader (SDXC).
  • Audiophile? S15 comes with Dual-speakers stereo audio with surround-sound effects ASUS SonicMaster and Analog microphone.

Verdict

This is one of the best laptops I came across or at least the best from the trash junk I use. This outperforms in all departments like display, performance and anything you name it. Well, that how ASUS VivoBook S15 makes my life easier.
