Instagram’s Alpha Program
The Reddit post immediately went around forcing the user (Instagram employee) to delete the post for its high number of accessions. However, the link to the Google Groups is still live, which means you can register and get into Alpha testing.
Get into the Instagram Alpha program (click here). But, do notice that the new Alpha version is specifically for developers and clearly not for faint-hearted. Well, joining the Alpha testing will give you an early access to many new features, before it goes public.

How To Become Tester
- Join the group on Google Groups.
- Become a tester via the dedicated page on the Android Play Store.
- Enable automatic app updates in Play Store settings. That’s it!
Not to forget, the Alpha version will appear and behave differently when compared to the public/stable version of Instagram. You can leave the program at any time and go back to using the regular version of Instagram. Here is how.
