Asus VivoBook Max X541UA: Design
The Vivobook X541 comes with an all plastic body with a tapered design. The lid has a black brushed metal finish while the interior has a golden brushed metal finish, apparently giving out simple yet a classic design to the notebook. Even though it has a 15.6-inch display, the notebook is surprisingly lightweight coming at just 1.9kg, thanks to its plastic body.
Asus VivoBook Max X541UA: Internals / Specifications
Starting from the I/O’s, the X54 notebook includes tray-loading DVD drive, USB Type-C connector with 5Gbps data transfer speeds, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, VGA and HDMI ports.
The Vivobook X541 is powered by an Intel Core i3-7100U processor, coupled with Intel HD Graphics, paired with 4GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM, which is expandable up to 12GB and a 1TB hard drive. The combo works great for the general day-to-day task.
Asus VivoBook Max X541UA: Performance
The VivoBook Max X541 showcased a huge hiccup while using Google Chrome. Moreover, if you buy it for photo or video editing purpose, let me tell you, the video rendering on Adobe premiere was also taking around 4hours to render a 3-minute video.
But not to forget, this is a budget end laptop, so, performance to price ratio is decent. So, fairly on the performance front, this laptop stands mediocre but can be really great for the office (if webcam not required as it is really poor) and school work.

Things I Really Liked About This Laptop
- The display. The VivoBook Max X541 comes with a 15.6-inch full HD display. It features wide viewing angles, excellent brightness and an anti-glare coating for comfortable use. I loved using it in indoors as well as outdoors.
- The dual speaker setup. Well, it comes with 3W speakers with a 24cc sound chamber and a special transmission line to deliver top-notch audio output. The music and movie watching is pretty loud and clear with an ample amount of bass.
- The Chiclet Keyboard, The laptop features a ‘gaming grade chiclet keyboard’ with a 2.3mm key travel distance, which is really great for anyone who types a lot.
- The design and ergonomics of the laptop and we cannot forget the touchpad, which is 11% larger than those found on similarly sized laptops and features palm rejection technology, for precise input.
Now, before we jump to conclusion, let talk about the battery, It is powered by a 3-cell 36WHr battery, which isn’t great or best in the market, but if you aren’t editing or rendering anything, just basic stuff, it can easily take you to 5-6 hours to continuous use.
