Instagram has been adding new features up its sleeves and several other new features are under testing and one among them lets you follow hashtags instead of people/pages. This feature will revolutionize the way we look at Instagram.

Follow Hashtags, Not People

This feature was spotted by a Twitter user (@Social_pip), this could be a handy feature. Let say, you want to regularly see cute cat photos, without bothering to search for them or follow their owners, you can do it.

Considering the popularity of some hashtags, Instagram will limit the post appearing on your feed with ‘top posts and recent’ stories, as per a tooltip that shows up, above the following button.

This very new feature is under testing and is limited to a group of users. Instagram hasn’t spoken about it yet. If the feature goes well under testing, the chances of rolling out widely are likely to be very high. Either way, stay tuned for more.
