Samsung 360 Round Camera For 4K 3D Live Streaming Announced

Samsung has announced a new camera to shoot 360-degree footage; Samsung 360 Round Camera. It sports 17 lenses including eight horizontally positioned stereo speakers and one single lens placed vertically.

Samsung 360 Round Camera

The Round camera can stream and record high-quality 3D content for virtual reality. The single lens can live stream 4K UHD 3D video and spatial audio and can create 3D images with depth. The 17 cameras come with 1/2.8″, a 2M image sensor, f/1.8 lens.

The 360 Round can record and stream 3D or 2D content at 4K with 30 fps (frames per seconds) in X264 or X265 format. In addition to that, it packs 10GB LPDDR3 RAM and 40GB eMMC internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via SD card and 2TB via SSD.

On the connectivity side, it comes with LAN, USB-C to quickly transfer footage. It has 2 PC software for camera control/streaming, content viewing, and another one for post-processing the 3D content.
Minimum System Requirement
  • Intel Core i7-6700K Or Above
  • NVIDIA GTX 1080 x 1ea GPU
  • 16GB RAM
  • Windows 10 64bit OS

For post-processing, you will need Intel Core i7-6950X or above with 32GB RAM and GPU NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti x 2ea GPU. Samsung 360 Round camera will go on sale sometime in October. Although there is no official pricing, some reports say it will be priced US$10,500 (roughly Rs 6,83,355 / EUR 8900).
