It’s mid 2016 and some devices like Samsung’s S7, Xiaomi Mi5 have already proved themselves and started dominating the market with their design, aesthetics and specs. It’s time for Apple to prove that they are still alive and can innovate the user experience and can take the smartphone market to the next level.
The iPhone 7 is one of the most anticipated devices of this year. We have heard lot of rumors and leaks on this device. And here are some of them and what we expect this year.
->Ditching Headphone Jack??
This has been rumored for a while now. We might miss 3.5mm headphone jack from the upcoming new iPhone 7. This is probably the biggest change Apple’s going to bring in the smartphone industry. There were lot of rumors and leaks.
The above image was tweeted by @OnLeaks making it somewhat genuine among all rumors and yeah! If this happens then we can probably expect some more battery. As there was story that headphone jack is eating up space.
->Dual Camera?
This is pretty interesting to see whether iPhone 7 will go with single or dual camera. Dual camera has been seen in many of the devices released in 2016, some devices are LG G5, Honor P9 and so on. The iPhone 7 probably will stick with a single camera lens, the dual camera setup is expected in iPhone 7 Plus. It will be interesting to see how the dual camera setup changes the quality of the pictures produced, from better low-light performance to improved colour accuracy and faster autofocus only time will say.
->32GB Base Storage Variant
Apple is rumored to remove 16GB as it base variant replacing it with 32GB. Yes! After a long while this seems happening. The company first introduced the 16GB variant in 2008, and it has remained as the base model ever since the iPhone 5 in 2012. With the rise of the app culture, alongside 4K recording capabilities, this shift to a 32GB base model makes sense in more ways than one.
->Smart Connector
There are conflicting rumors on this one. Some reports suggest that the iPhone 7 will come with the Smart Connector first introduced with the iPad Pro for connecting the Smart Keyboard Cover and other accessories like charging docks, while other leaks have shown no presence of the Smart Connector. It remains to be seen if the Smart Connector will make its way on to the iPhone 7, even if it’s just the top end variant.
->Force Touch Home Button
Apparently, Apple has patented the force touch home button (might be a rumor too) but a recent leak tips that Apple may use its Force Touch technology on the iPhone 7’s home button. The report claims that Apple is redesigning the physical home button to replace it with one that sits flush with the body, and provides haptic feedback.
