CCI said that Bharati Airtel has also made some “contradictory submissions of the impugned free services” of Jio to deal the dominant position of Reliance Industries (parent company of Jio) as well as an outcome of an alleged anti-competitive agreement between the two group firms.
CCI has dismissed Bharti Airtel’s complaint with a 17-page order that the company has not given any likable explanation on how Jio’s free services was an outcome of unilateral conduct and anti-competitive conduct of Reliance Industries.

CCI has also ordered a detailed inquiry of the conduct of leading telecom operator (including Bharti Airtel) for allegedly forming a cartel against Reliance Jio. In addition to that, if in the absence of finding any anti-competitive conduct, RIL cannot be held in contravention, as it has made huge investments in its telecom venture.
CCI Said;
Mere investments cannot be regarded as leverage of dominant position, particularly when RIL itself is not engaged in the business of providing telecom services or any activities incidental thereto.
