Starbucks Now Has Virtual Assistant For Taking Down Your Orders

Virtual or Digital Assistant are becoming a relevant part of our day to day routine. Starting from Google’s Virtual Assistant to Apple’s Siri, everybody is down to solve and simplify the human-machine interaction.



AI (Artifical Intelligence) is taking over the planet. As many are approaching to create or own one. No matter if it is a Facebook’s Messenger bot or it Microsoft’s Cortana. AI or say Virtual Assitant is one buzz word that’s going to buzz around you this year.

My Starbucks Barista- Virtual Assistant

There are many companies that are taking on AI-powered services and latest on the game is Starbucks (yes, you heard it!) It’s called ‘My Starbucks Barista” which is powered by AI for the Starbucks Mobile App. It’s pretty odd to see a non-tech company coming out with AI services and it is awesome to AI buzzing around.

So, what can you do with this virtual assistant?

Well, of course, order a coffee (after all Starbucks is known for it) but with your voice just as if you were talking to an actual barista. Apparently, that’s why it is called “My Starbucks Barista”. You can modify your preferences when using the assistant.

This went live for “one thousand iOS customers nationwide”, which is obviously going to increase in the coming future (but seriously for one thousand?) Company is said to release Android support later this year. In addition to this Starbucks is also announcing a “Reorder” (sorta) skill for Amazon’s Alexa, which can be triggered just by saying “Alexa, order my Starbucks”. There is a lot of space to accommodate more, nevertheless more on the way.
