Telegram is possibly the best messaging application, why we say that? well, Telegram outperforms most popular messaging applications like WhatsApp, iMessage, and Facebook Messenger with it driven features and security. That said, Hike has also gained popularity in the recent years with its features and to some extent just for the fact that it is made in India (promotions). So here’s a detailed comparison between both these messaging applications i.e. Telegram Vs Hike.

Telegram: The Intro!
Telegram is a cloud-based instant messaging and voice over IP service developed by Telegram Messenger LLP, a privately held company registered in London, the United Kingdom founded by the Russian entrepreneur Pavel Durov. In March 2018, Telegram stated that it had 200 million monthly active users.
Telegram has also faced some censorship or outright bans in some countries over accusations that the app’s services have been used to facilitate illegal activities, such as protests and terrorism, as well as declining demands to facilitate government access to user data and communications.
Hike: The Intro!
Hike is India’s first social and technology company. The Hike messenger app is a freeware and cross-platform messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP) service. Hike was launched on 12 December 2012 and was founded by Kavin Bharti Mittal. Well, on 16 August 2016, Hike raised $175 million. The India based messaging application gained popularity due to marketing and by offering features better than WhatsApp (not better than Telegram though).
Telegram Vs Hike: Security
Telegram is one of the most secure application, for messaging and data sharing. Everything on Telegram, including chats, groups, media, calls are encrypted using a combination of 256-bit symmetric AES encryption, 2048-bit RSA encryption, and Diffie–Hellman secures key exchange. Moreover, Secret Chat allows the user to self-destruct messages after a particular time interval.
On the other hand, Hike uses a 128-bit SSL encrypted, a firewalled server for the exchange of media and text messages only on WiFi. Messages are stored locally in the user’s device and the data is not backed-up to Hike’s server, which is kinda secure too. Hike offers some nifty features like Hidden Mode, with which users can hide all of their private chats from the world and access them only with a password, pretty much like how Telegram has one.
Telegram Vs Hike: Group Chats
Telegram allows a maximum of 100000 users in a group. This is more than enough to accommodate even the largest organizations. You can share any type of uncompressed file on these groups. Furthermore, the ability to create channels for sharing content is another helpful feature and speaking of the channel, we have one too, join us if you want to receive the latest tech news straight to you.
You might have come across the advertisements where Hike brags the ability to have 1000 group members. Well, Hike is nowhere close to Telegram in terms of group members as it supports just 1000 members. You can’t create something like a Telegram channel on Hike. Apart from that, the application does do offer some helpful features like Bill Split, and small in-group games, which Telegram doesn’t.

Telegram Vs Hike: Calling
You get the most basic voice calling feature on Telegram, which is again encrypted. On the other hand, Hike also has video calling abilities. That said, both these applications are missing group voice or video calling features that WhatsApp has recently introduced. One thing is for sure, Hike will soon have this feature rolling out soon compared to Telegram.
Telegram Vs Hike: Major features
Some useful features that are exclusively available on Telegram are editable and deletable messages. Moreover, Telegram also offers an inbuilt photo editor. You can share any sort of files or folders without worrying about the size. This can be useful to share RAW photos or even a few seconds of 4K footage. Lastly, Telegram offers seamless cross-platform support.
Well, Hike also has some exclusive features. The first useful feature is Hike Wallet, which can be used for UPI payments for recharges and money transfers. Hike also offers news and live cricket scores (which can be done via channels and bots on telegram). Furthermore, Hike also offers around 12 themes and a numerous amount of stickers, which again Telegram has, but yes to the level of Hike, not a bummer for me.

As a conclusion, in some or, the other way Telegram has nearly every feature that Hike brags about. Telegram is still the best instant messaging application that already offers features that various messaging applications are now introducing. Well, lack of bloatware makes telegram work fastly.
