There are models with both Intel and AMD processors, and we suggest you go with the AMD ones as they offer slightly better value for money. These come with a 14-inch and 15.6-inch 1080p Anti-Glare IPS and TN displays.

2. Acer Swift 3
The Acer Swift 3 is a lightweight laptop that packs punches above its price. It has a 14-inch Full HD IPS LCD with 98% NTSC color gamut, which is incredible at the cost of Rs. 44999. At its heart, there’s an 8th Gen Core i5 processor and 8GB of DDR4 RAM. On the GPU front, it features 2GB Nvidia’s MX250 MaxQ graphics.
It has a WD Blue 512GB NVMe SSD for storage. The laptop has the RAM soldered to the motherboard, meaning you cannot add more RAM to it. The Acer Swift 3 is a joy to use, and we recommend it above any other laptop that you’ll find in the 40-50k price range.
3. ASUS VivoBook S14/15
The S series is a funky, sturdy, and lightweight series from ASUS. The specs are similar to VivoBook 14/15, with slight changes here and there. The laptops come with a 14, 15.6-inches Full HD IPS display, which is excellent.
These laptops are powered by Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor with a single channel 8GB of DDR4 RAM. On the GPU front, there’s onboard Intel UHD 620 graphics, which isn’t great. 4. Lenovo Ideapad S145
Lenovo is known for its excellent value for money products. There are a lot of laptops from Lenovo, which cost 40-50k, but the Ideapad S145 is the one that caught our attention. From the outside, the design resembles older Macbooks, but things are a lot more potent on the inside.
We’re talking about a 10th Gen Core i5 (1035G1) and 8GB DDR4 RAM with an expansion slot. The only con that we found is the lack of IPS display, which could be a deal-breaker for some people. At Rs 43,000, this laptop is worth checking out.
5. HP Pavilion 15-EC
Searching for a laptop for office work as well as gaming? The HP Pavilion 15-EC might be the end of the search for you. Weighing just above 2Kgs, it is lightweight compared to other gaming laptops in the market. It’s got gaming aesthetics to it while maintaining the aspect ratio of a typical laptop.
It comes with a 15.6-inch 60Hz IPS LCD panel, which covers 48% of the total NTSC spectrum, which is good. It is powered by a 3rd-gen Ryzen 5 (3550H) processor with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which is expandable up to 32GB. On the GPU front, it has dedicated 3GB of DDR5 GTX 1050 graphics. For Rs. 49999, the laptop offers excellent value for money.
6. Lenovo Ideapad 330s
Another laptop from Lenovo that provides excellent value for money. The Lenovo Ideapad 330s is a laptop made for everyday usage. Introduced in 2018, it’s old but still makes a lot of sense. The laptop comes with an Intel Core i5 8th Gen (8250U) processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and an IPS display.
It comes with a 1TB HDD, and there is an M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD expansion slot that you can use to make the laptop faster. The Core i5 8250u is 15% slower than 8265U (which can be found in other laptops in this list), but it’s still a great processor for everyday use.
It comes with Windows 10 Home out of the box and Intel UHD 620 Graphics, and you cannot expect AAA titles to run smoothly. If you’re looking for a laptop to view content, the Ideapad 330s will not disappoint you.
With so many laptops to choose from, buying a laptop under Rs 50,000 could be challenging. If you make a wrong call while purchasing a smartphone, you will probably not regret it because they’re cheaper. But, while buying a laptop, you need to be extra careful as you will be using it for years and believe us, you don’t want to regret it for years, do you?
That said, if we had to pick one, we’d go with the Acer Swift 3 as it offers an incredible value for money. We would also suggest you wait for the upcoming Swift 3 with 4th-gen Ryzen processors as we believe they’ll offer even better value for money.
