Design And Box Contents
The unboxing experience was pretty good. The IEMs are visible from outside the box, and the packaging is excellent. We tried decoding the text written on the box but couldn’t. BLON has also included extra pairs of ear tips and a carry pouch made of Velvet whose quality is top-notch.
The design language of the IEM is not that appealing but is unique. The outer shell is made of metal, and the company claims that it doesn’t attract fingerprints and is scratch resistant. We found both the claims to be false as our unit attracted a lot of prints and has also got a couple of small scratches.

The earphones fit perfectly in the ears, and the typical IEM grade memory wire makes the fit even better. The cable is a two-core black colored one whose quality is excellent, and it is a detachable 2-pin connector found on Kz’s and TRN’s. The 3.5mm jack is L-shaped and is gold plated.
Sound Quality
BLON BL-03 is hands down the best sounding IEM in the sub $30 segment. The highs have low sibilance and are smooth unlike the bright highs found on KZ IEMs. The Mids are energetic and excellent. The bass is on a boomy side which audiophiles don’t usually tend to like but, the separation is excellent. Overall, the 10mm dynamic carbon drivers do help in producing great sound.
The sound stage is comprehensive and very well done. Imaging is above average, and the separation is excellent. BLON has arranged the spectrum very well. The details, response, and micro details are exceptional, which makes this IEM a great choice. The quality of the microphone is excellent.

The passive noise isolation is average, and you might want to replace the tips (we recommend Spinfits) for a better listening experience. We also replaced the 2-core cable with a Yinyoo 8-core cable (thanks to the replaceability), and the sound quality improved drastically.
Verdict
That said, for $27 (~ Rs.1900), the earphones provide excellent value for money. If you’re someone who listens to Acoustic, Rock, and EDM and need neutral sounding earphones, the BLON Bl-03 is for you.
The way we listen to music has changed drastically over the past few years. Manufacturers often forget that other than bass, there are a lot of different factors to consider while making audio equipment. While they shine, manufacturers like BLON are left in shadow. We hope people will get to know the difference between bad and great audio gear in the future, instead of falling for false marketing traps.
