Xiaomi has finally announced the next iteration of its Android One smartphone- Xiaomi Mi A3 in India. The smartphone was announced in Spain, a month ago. The Mi A3 brings in significant upgrades in the design front, camera specs and just overall hardware. Along with upgrades, the Mi A3 also has made significant downgrades which may disappoint you.
We know there’s no such term called a perfect product, but you must know the device’s downsides. So, here are 2 things you must know before buying Xiaomi Mi A3.
Xiaomi Mi A3: Intro
The Mi A3 comes with 6.088-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display, powered by Snapdragon 665 11nm SoC, coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM, paired with 64GB/128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, runs on Android 9.0 Pie (upgradable to Android Q), and is backed by a 4030mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 18W fast charging.
Coming to the camera, it sports a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, 8-megapixel 118° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 32-megapixel front camera sensor that merges four pixels to form large 1.6μm pixels for better low-light images and AI beautify mode.
The A3 comes with a seventh-gen in-display fingerprint scanner with a 15% increased fingerprint detection area and has splash-resistant P2i coating to prevent the phone from everyday splashes and spills.
2 Drawbacks Of Xiaomi Mi A3
There are many goods about Mi A3, but here are some drawbacks that you must know;
Downgraded Screen Resolution
A high-res display is very important for the fact that it the single most hardware that you will look into for the most part. Unlike Xiaomi Mi A2, which comes with an FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display, the Mi A3 comes with an HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) display. Yes, the Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with a lower screen resolution, which of course tampers with overall image quality.
No 18W Fast Charger In The Box
Although the Mi A3 supports 18W fast charging, sadly, the company doesn’t pack one with the bundle, instead, it just offers a standard 10W charger in the package box. This could be a cost-cutting measure from the company. So, if you want to use the potential, you need to buy an 18W fast charger by yourself.
That said, Xiaomi Mi A3 comes in “Not Just Blue”, “More Than White” and “Kind of Grey” colors. It is available from Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from August 23rd. It is priced;
- 4GB RAM + 64GB storage – Rs. 12,999
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – Rs. 15,999
- Rs. 750 cashback on HDFC Credit cards. Additional Rs. 250 cashback on EMI.
- Double data for Airtel users on recharge of Rs. 249.
