Huawei is in the ocean of issues following the ban imposed by the US government, which prohibits the company from installing Google apps and services (also includes Android). This has pushed Huawei to develop its own mobile OS. But amidst all of this Huawei is poking its users with unwanted ads on the lock screen.

No, these ads have started to show up even if the users don’t have the Booking.com app installed on their smartphones, perhaps, it comes pre-installed on many devices running EMUI. These ads are not limited to one region or country, as the reports came from multiple nations including Australia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.

How To Remove Booking Ads From Huawei And Honor Smartphones
According to most of the users reported in a Reddit thread, these ads appear as a part of Huawei’s Magazine unlock feature, which is why they appear even without the Booking.com app installed on the device. So, here’s how to disable it;
Go to settings > Lockscreen > Magazine unlock > Disable auto update option
Just to be sure, delete the folder corresponding to Magazine unlock from either the Gallery or the File Manager. By following these steps, you should stop seeing these lock screen wallpapers with Booking.com on Huawei/Honor devices.
