Nokia 8.1 With Snapdragon 710, Dual Rear Cameras With ZEISS Optics Announced

HMD Global backed Nokia has announced its latest Android One smartphone – Nokia 8.1, a global version of the Nokia X7 mid-range smartphone that was introduced in China back in October. This is also the successor of the most popular Nokia 7 Plus.

Nokia 8.1: AKA Nokia X7!

The Nokia 8.1 packs in a 6.18-inch Full HD+ 18.7:9 aspect ratio PureDisplay with HDR10 video playback, powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM, paired with 64GB expandable storage, runs on Android Pie and all these are backed by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support.

Coming to the camera, it has a 12-megapixel rear camera rear camera with ZEISS optics along with a 13-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots with AI scene detection. There is a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and pixel binding that can combine four pixels to form 1.8μm large pixel.

Furthermore, in the camera features, it has AI beauty and AI portrait Mode, 6 AI studio lights, AI expressions, and new dual-view mode. The Nokia 8.1 is made of 6 series aluminum-magnesium alloy frame, glass back, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Nokia 8.1 comes in Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, Iron/Steel, and is priced at 399 Euros (~US$ 452 / Rs. 31,900). It will be available in UAE from December 15th priced at 1,499 Dirham (~US$ 408 / Rs. 28,805) with pre-orders starting tomorrow. It will be available in rest of the Middle East from December 20th. The company said to launch this smartphone in India soon.
