Huawei recently introduced its new mid-range processor Huawei Kirin 710. This processor powers Huawei’s new mid-range smartphone the Huawei Nova 3i. That said a few months ago Snapdragon introduced the new segment of processors namely Snapdragon 710. So here’s a detailed comparison between both these processors i.e. Snapdragon 710 Vs. Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Vs. Huawei Kirin 710: Processing Power

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor has eight (octa-cores) of Kryo 360 cores. These have a clock-speed of 2.2Ghz. The processor comes with a capable Adreno 616 GPU. On the other hand, you get four ARM Cortex-A73 bigger cores clocked at 2.2GHz and the other four smaller ARM Cortex-A53 cores are clocked at 1.7GHz. Huawei Kirin 710 comes with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU.

Furthermore, the Snapdragon 710 is based on 10nm manufacturing technology while the Huawei Kirin 710 is based on12nm. Hence, the performance, rendering and overall compatibility of Snapdragon 710 are much better than Huawei Kirin 710.

Another major factor that differentiates these processors are the maximum display resolution they support theoretically. The Snapdragon 710 supports a maximum of Quad HD+ display resolution (up to 3040 x 1440 pixels). On the other hand, the Huawei Kirin 710 supports a Full HD+ with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.

The Snapdragon 710 has X15 LTE modem, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac 4×4 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 , GPS + GLONASS, and QuickCharge 4+ support. For connectivity, the Huawei Kirin 710 offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS + GLONASS

Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Vs. Huawei Kirin 710: Camera

The Snapdragon 710 includes Spectra 250 image signal processor. Supported image resolution on Snapdragon 710 is 32 MP on a single ISP and dual 20 MP units on dual ISP. On the other hand, Huawei Kirin 710 presently supports a 16P and 2MP dual camera configuration.

On the camera front, the Snapdragon 710 outperforms Huawei Kirin 710. The Snapdragon 710 offers features like noise reduction, active depth sensing, slow-motion video, super-resolution, image stabilization and more are natively supported and hardware accelerated.

Conclusion

Unlike the naming suggests (Kirin 710) is nowhere close to Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 in overall performance, Snapdragon 710 beats Kirin 710 by huge margins based on Geekbench tests. Kirin 710 is more like an alternative to Helio P60.
