MediaTek Reveals New Helio A Series For Budget-Oriented Smartphones!

MediaTek is a well-known brand that mainly produces smartphone processors for budget oriented and mid-range smartphones. Today the company has launched new Helio A series chipsets dedicated for low to mid-range hardware starting with the A22. So here’s everything you need to know about these new processors by MediaTek for low to mid-range smartphones.

MediaTek Helio A Series: Specifications And Features

The new quad-core A22 is based on the 12nm FinFET node. These new Helio A-Series processors come with MediaTek’s CorePilot tech. Furthermore, it also offers AI features that work with the company’s NeuroPilot SDK for an enhanced performance dedicated to on-device machine learning applications. Lastly, these processors are also compatible with popular frameworks like Google’s NNAPI and have Bluetooth 5 connectivity.

Helio A Series

It supports dual cameras setup with a maximum of a 13MP+8MP configuration. Well, you also get 30FPS recording or a single camera configuration of up to 21MP. The A22 chipset supports HD+ display resolutions. A22 chipset supports Cat-4 and Cat-7 4G LTE coupled with Cat-13 uploads and comes with dual-sim support, VoLTE, and ViLTE. It’s also compatible with both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4.

MediaTek Helio A Series: MarketShare And Usage

As we’ve seen, mid-market growth continues to explode and there continues to be consumer interest in powerful and quality devices that offer them the best value,” said TL Lee, General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communication business unit at MediaTek.

These new processors by MediaTek are mainly dedicated towards lower end smartphones as Snapdragon mainly dominates the mid-range smartphone market. MediaTek also claims that the new Helio A series processors will offer a significant improvement in battery life. Presently this new MediaTek chipset is available only on the Redmi 6A and will soon be available to more and more devices.
