Snapdragon 636 Vs MediaTek Helio P60: Processing Power

The Snapdragon 636 has eight Kryo 260 cores that have a clock frequency of up to 2.2Ghz. On the other hand, you get four ARM Cortex A53 cores, and four ARM Cortex A73 clocked at 2.0Ghz. Well, the Snapdragon 636 comes with Adreno 509 GPU, and the Helio P60 has Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.

The MediaTek Helio P60 is based on a 12 nm production process. Well, this is slightly better than the 14 nm production process of the Snapdragon 636. The Helio P60 will have the edge over the Snapdragon 636 regarding overall efficiency and low power consumption. While the Snapdragon 636 will outperform Helio P60 regarding daily use and gaming, thanks to the higher clock frequency and a better GPU.

The Snapdragon 636 can easily power a Full HD WQXGA with a resolution of 2560 x 1200 pixels. As far as connectivity is concerned Snapdragon 636 supports Wi-Fi 2×2 802.11ac with MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and LTEX12. On the other hand, the Mediatek Helio P60 supports up to FHD+ display with 20:9 aspect ratio. For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and LTE Cat.7.

Snapdragon 636 Vs MediaTek Helio P60: Camera

The Snapdragon 636 boasts a 14-bit Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP that supports sensors of up to 24MP or dual 16MP sensors. On the other hand, Helio P60 can hold up to 32 MP single camera sensor or a dual camera setup of 16MP + 24 MP. The Helio P60 uses tri-core ISP for better efficiency, whereas Snapdragon 636 has only dual-core ISP. Consequently, the camera performance would be much better on Mediatek Helio P60.
